Seven Days in Madeira
always remember this can be finetuned to desired taste (or if prefered, totally arranged by us), but these examples are very sucessful combinations
Day 1 — Arrival
Funchal welcomes you. Hotel check-in, slow stroll along Avenida do Mar, dinner with Atlantic breeze.
Day 2 — Peninsula · Blue edges · Warm-up
Ponta de São Lourenço (PR8). Volcanic colours, sea cliffs and lizards (7–8 km · 2.5–3 h). Swim at Prainha or Caniçal. Sunset lookouts above the cape.
Day 3 — Ridges · Tunnels of light
Pico do Areeiro ↔ Pico Ruivo (PR1). Stairways through the clouds, short tunnels and knife-edge views (14 km · 6–7 h). Early start; late lunch in Santana.
Day 4 — Emerald amphitheatre
Levada do Caldeirão Verde from Queimadas park (13 km · 5 h). Moss, fern and waterfalls; optional short add-on to Caldeirão do Inferno if the group feels strong.
Day 5 — Fanal · Ancient forest · Rock pools
Fanal’s laurel giants and Chão da Ribeira loop (10–12 km · 4–5 h). Afternoon swim at Seixal beach or the natural pools of Porto Moniz.
Day 6 — Waterfalls of Rabaçal
Levada das 25 Fontes & Risco (11–13 km · 4–5 h) with optional detour to Lagoa do Vento. Evening ferry option to Porto Santo for golden-sand downtime.
Day 7 — Oasis or Golden Island
Option A: Porto Santo – Pico Branco & Terra Chã (7 km · 2.5 h), sea-swim, late lunch, sail back. Option B: Levada do Rei (10 km · 3 h) and sunset at Cabo Girão skywalk.
Day 8 — The return · Soft glow
Unhurried morning, market stop for edible souvenirs, transfer to airport.
