Christmas Lights & Festive Season
Complete transformation of Funchal with lights, markets, seasonal gastronomy and winter ambience. December is absolute magic here every single time. Locals cosy up, travellers take their pilgrimage, festive moods settle amber, and the winter is sunny. Illuminated streets from December to January, craft markets, themed dinners, gatherings and eventually a special build up to the New Year spectacular. We offer just about everything during this time.

Carnival

Flower Festival
What it is: Madeira’s annual celebration of blooms and spring renewal. A celebration of deep connection to a stunning natural garden in full-power spirit. Floral carpets, botanical pageantry and island-wide bloom displays. Parade of floats dressed in flowers, market visits, garden tours in full bloom. We program museum and garden visiting as well as mountain trails, featuring the floral stories surrounding this seasonal gathering.

This thrilling classic car showdown in the lush surroundings of Magnolia Gardens showcases a stunning collection of vintage and classic automobiles from various eras.

• Rally Madeira
The Rali da Madeira (formerly known as Rali Vinho da Madeira) is a tarmac rally held in Madeira Island, Portugal, and it is the biggest annual sporting event of the island, bringing thousands of people onto the roads to watch the drivers compete through the hilly terrain and the natural landscapes. Born in 1959.
It is one of the most breathtaking, joyful and unity-spreading events our people undergo each year in August. The festival also features various types of entertainment, food stands, and activities for families, ensuring a festive atmosphere for all.
• Madeira Wine Festival
Harvest celebration of Madeira’s iconic fortified wine. Why it attracts: Rich heritage, wine-culture immersion and island authenticity. Vineyard lunches, grape-stomping parades, tastings and live music under stars. Tastings, wine exhibitions, and educational workshops. Live music, traditional dance performances, and a lively street market featuring local crafts and delicious Madeira cuisine.

Columbus Festival -Porto Santo Island
